Everything’s fine.
Probably.
Our homelab: four servers (one offsite) and more hard drives than we probably need.

What’s in the rack
It started with a 2011 iMac on a desk. Now there’s a rack, and 10 gigabit to everything in it.
- etech-nexus
- Ryzen 9 build
-
Ryzen 9, 128GB RAM, Quadro RTX 4000, tens of TB of disk
The main machine. If it needs to stay up, it lives here.
- etech-zenith
- Dell Precision Tower 3620
-
Xeon E3-1270 v6, 64GB RAM, Quadro P620
Lighter jobs, and whatever we’re still experimenting with.
- etech-titan
- Dell PowerEdge R710, 2U
-
Xeon, PERC hardware RAID, a shelf of SAS drives
It’s old and loud and weighs a ton, which is most of the appeal. The game servers run on it.
- Media
- Our own movie server, with GPU transcoding. Plays on anything in the house.
- Network
- 10 gigabit over Cat 6A to everything in the rack. Big file copies finish before you can go check on them.
Not in the rack
- etech-haven
- HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF
-
Xeon E3-1271 v3, 32GB RAM, Radeon Pro WX 2100
Offsite backups. The one copy that isn’t in the house.
